The Personal Support Worker contributes to
the quality of life of the individuals who live in long
term care facilities or in their own home. They promote
the clients independence, dignity, social, emotional and
physical well being.
The Personal Support Worker student will
develop a wide variety of skills that emphasizes the value
of their role. Activities for the PSW include providing
personal care and hygiene, household and family management,
meal preparation, assisting clients with their medications
and rehabilitation
The program operates within the guidelines
of the Regulating Health Professionals Act. The program
meets the requirements and is registered under the Ministry
of Training Colleges and Universities, Private Career Colleges.
The Program consists of 510 hours that
include theory and practical training.
