Scope of Practice

1. Nursing & Homemakers management will examine on an annual
basis the Licences of the Registrant with the College of Nurses of
Ontario.

2. The scope of practice will be defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and nurses employed by NHI will adhere to this .

3. Care will be provided in a professional and competent manner
consistent with all Applicable Laws and in accordance with the
Standards of the College of Nurse of Ontario.

4. NHI is responsible for instruction, supervision and evaluation of the competence of nurses employed by NHI, who are providing services to Clients.

5. NHI supervisors will make site visits, conduct client satisfaction surveys, occurrence reports and general audits of nurses.

• NHI will ensure that all nurses providing service to Clients will practice within the full scope of their clinical skills as set out by the standards of practice published by the College of Nurses of Ontario and will practice all specific clinical skills with the appropriate certification. In addition where client requires specialty nursing skills that require certification , NHI will take the necessary measures to maintain full force and effect the appropriate certification.
  NHI will be responsible to ensure that the appropriate nursing skills are utilized in the provision of Nursing Services to Clients.
