Message from the President

NHI-Nursing & Homemakers Inc. was founded in 1985 to provide health care staffing and homecare needs. With increasing technologies in the health care industry, changes are taking place that are impacting the lives of all those who work in the industry. Our community of baby boomers have now turned to the internet to find the information they need. From shopping online to acquiring the services they need to help them in their decision making as they assume the role of the caregivers for their parents.

We must change the way we think if we are to realize a future in which there is a paradigm shift that requires us to plan for our retirement more strategically to ensure that there will be financial assets to take care of us for those unexpected times.

There is enough evidence to show that we are a generation that is living longer lives. Our baby boomers are not only thinking of their own care but also of the care of their parents. They are making decisions about whether or not their loved ones are going to be living in a long term care facility or at home. If at home, then how is this cost going to be covered and will they have enough funds available to have a comfortable lifestyle?

NHI was formed to meet the needs of our clients and employees. Over the years NHI has delivered on its promises and continues to do so. We have over 50 different cultural languages spoken and all our employees are well trained and screened to deliver to our clients the highest level of service and care. We offer Palliative and Rehabilitation, Nursing and Restorative.

Our employees choose working for NHI as lifestyle choice because, not only do we provide the flexibility of schedule, but we are also able to provide the work environment of choice, whether it be hospital, long term care, and home or community settings.

We are accredited by Accreditation Canada and the winner of several Consumers’ Choice Awards for Excellence in Nurses Services. Our excellent reputation in the health care industry has allowed us to be successful in being awarded contracts from major clients. It allows us to attract excellent front line staff to deliver services that are tailored to our client’s needs.

Our administrative staff consistently provides the support that our front line staff need through education, orientation and being good listeners. We continue to be unique in the types of services that we offer and the wide range of clientele we service. “We are there when our client’s need us most”. You can trust us to deliver on our promise.
